A cosy grey and beige apartment in Sweden

What? You never get lost scrolling on a foreign real state website? 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is a small 52sqm apartment in the middle of the Vasastan neighbourhood, in Stockholm.

It’s a small apartment, on a building from the 19th century and without great ambitions, but a wonderful light and a subtle colour palette that creates a quiet and cosy apartment.

The white mouldings -together with the carpentry- contrast against the grey walls, a colour I find to be super useful to avoid what I call the “white wall” syndrome. And the beige and wood touches, also help and give a touch of warmth to the whole.

I especially like how the dining table contrasts against the grey wall, thanks to the lacquered chairs around it and the white linen tablecloth, and adds even more light to the space.

On the other hand, the bedroom is decorated in warmer tones with beige nuances, and I don’t know about you… but that bed looks so nice and fluffy that is calling my name! I find also really nice the warmer tone for the bedroom walls, as it sneaks into the living room through the door and creates such a balanced view.

The kitchen is very simple, you can see that the appliances are quite old now, but with great taste, a balanced palette and some nice accessories, you can always make it work.

What do you think? As I said previously, this apartment with simple tones seems to be a fantastic example of how you don’t need big outlays to get a cosy space. It does have light, but natural light is just so important!

If you’d like to read more about that, here is a guide to help you find a home with maximum light, and here another one to help you enhance what you already have.
